Hazardous Biological Agents Survey

Hazardous Biological Agents Surveys are conducted to evaluate legionella counts in water sources, quality of drinking and effluent water, as well as cleaning practices at your workplace against statutory requirements, and to recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Hazardous biological agents include micro-organism, cell culture or human endoparasites, including those that have been genetically modified, that can cause any infections, allergies or toxicities, and pose a threat to human health.

Every employer should have a Hazardous Biological Agents Survey conducted at their premises as required in terms of Sections 6 and 7 of the of the Hazardous Biological Agents Regulations, OHSAct and Section 11 of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
